The world (or rather, mine) has turned gloomy since the demise of a six-year relationship between Hollywood hot couple Miranda Kerr and Orlando Bloom. They seem to have had it all – great looks, a cute son, perfect figures, many endorsements, successful careers, great looks (wait, did I mention that already) … But why do couples in relationships don’t last? Here are some reasons I can think of.
1) He might cheat (and you, too)
I’m not saying Orlando Bloom has cheated here. But, in any relationship, there are equal chances of either parties cheating the other. And the line to draw here is ‘What’s considered cheating?’. So, my advice is once you and your guy have decided to stay together in the long term, talk things out clearly (especially you and his expectations). After all, a stiff prick knows no conscience (I read it somewhere).
2) Love dies … in time
Remember the time when you’d always wanted a pet dog during pre-school? That undying love and desire for something at one single moment lasted for that time frame. And it died off as time floated by. Just like how your heart would heal itself post-breakup, your heart would also lose that same fondness you had for your love. You might find that one fine day, you just don’t love him that much. Or, begin to suspect if you’d ever loved him at all.
3) You and him quarrel all the time
In the early stages of your relationship, your head may go dizzy with this newly found happiness – ‘What am I going to do with him this weekend? Will he mind seeing a veggie stuck between my teeth?’. But as time passes, you’ll find that he doesn’t seem like what he is. You might start thinking: ‘Why is he so insensitive? Why doesn’t he pick up my calls? Why doesn’t he understand me at all?’
We know, it’s extremely frustrating but there’s a hard truth to learn in relationships: He won’t change for you, so stop changing who he is. Instead, start loving him for being who he is.
So, to all the not-so-single girls, you have my blessings. For the remaining single girls, may we find the path to a happy relationship soon.
